You Said I'm What?

Five years ago, I took a job as an Executive Secretary at a large healthcare organization. At first, I was enthusiastic about learning a new job and maybe meeting new people, but as time went on, I could detect that the people who I worked with weren't the same type of people I had known at my previous jobs. I was fortunate to have worked with people who supported me, and many of the people I have worked with have remained good friends to this day...

Fed up with concrete

I worked for large ready mix company, driving a mixer. It seemed the people in dispatch had it out for me, making me come in early, and leave late. I also had to do all the maintenance on the truck because the mechanics were far too busy screwing around. At the end of one particularly long week, they sent me to a job at a different plant. They decided that I should haul the last load, skipping over three other drivers from that plant...

What You Didn't Want to Know About Your Local Pizza Place
07/31/2010 by brianisawesome

By the age of 19 I had already acquired a long list of previous employers. There was McDonald’s, where I grilled burgers in the back with all the illegal immigrants. Management must have thought I was not presentable enough to work the front with all the other English speaking teenagers. There was the telecommunications center where I answered phones calls and placed catalog orders...

I gave proper notice, but it's still not good enough

I just put in my two-weeks notice after only working there a few months; it just ended up not working out, I'm not able to make a living from what I'm getting paid AND since my hours run into the evening, it's interfering with my class schedule. I thought they would appreciate my giving them two weeks, considering now days, people don't even do that much...

So i want to keep this brief but I am a student (17 now..16 at the time) this was my first job during the summer. The employer was aware of it just being for the summer and that when school was to start the hours would be "cut back". Shortchanged Payroll Explosion
04/16/2009 by MAYBACH SLINGER

I had a client fly in to see a car that was advertised on the internet as "CALL FOR PRICE".
I pick him up, and take him to the sister-store where the 2008 Maybach 62S was inventoried. Granted, the pay-plan for the sister store was different from mine; they pay $200 per car, regardless of profit vs. my 25% of NET PROFIT.
I was told by the General Manager to not be stupid selling the car out of my store for the now agreed upon price of $465,000...

How I quit my job. I gave up a good hourly job that was 35 miles away from my home. It was good pay, okay benefits, and great employees. Well my commute was taking a toll on me and my husband and we saved money during this 7yrs at this hospital in town. I thought I would like to explore something on the West Side of the island and take a chance on going back into retail...

Guinness got me fired!
Posted on 02/16/2006 by I'm The Man!
So you'll all love this, and I'm so excited there is a quit category. Anyway months ago I had had enough of my job. My only goal was to secure employment elsewhere... which I did. This brings me to my story. So about 2 weeks ago I got my offer letter in the mail. I bought a 4 pack of Guinness stout beer, put my oldest most torn jeans on, and went to work. I threw absolutely everything away that was at my desk. So while sitting at my empty cube...I pulled up a fantastic picture of Santa's butt with an elf stuck in the crack, and maximized it on my screen. Then... I put my feet on my des read full story »
