Fired during family crisis

I was canned due to some errors on some jobs. I am not disputing my termination. I am to blame. I knew this was coming and repeatedly asked the owner for an opportunity for a work performance review and provide suggestions for improving things to prevent errors. I gave up when I entered his office and he yelled at me and throw accusations my way with no intention of offering me an opportunity to correct my errors or defend myself. He just wasn't interested.

I'm glad the job is over. I am 34 and I was working with 3 senior citizens, only one of whom I have a high professional and personal regard for. My coworker, a young woman, was canned too.

Then during a time of family crisis. A very dear relative was in the hospital and not doing well. He fired me via E-MAIL. I received the message on my cell phone in the hospital. This was devastating to my family member and caused her to vomit and she required sedation. After the news, angry phone calls from myself and my wife ensued. The exchange ended when I told him he had no integrity in doing things the way he does.

He has fired other people evasively, causing bad PR and bad blood. He gets other employees to do his dirty work or waits until he is out of town to can people.

There was no phone call from the boss. There was no prior warning from him. My supervisor told me she was hiring a "backup" and my job was OK. My fellow coworker leaked the truth to me and prepared me for this. The company, for months, could not find anyone qualified to replace me. Finally, my boss settled for a bubbly young woman with half as less experience as myself. He didn't keep me on to train her. And the technology is difficult. Desperation? Apparently.

My firing and the firing of my coworker has left an immense whole of knowledge. Our talents and expertise, the customer relationships we fostered and account familiarity are all suddenly gone and will take months to rebuild. The boss shot his company in the foot - big time.

Boy... this new girl is going to be in for a rude awakening! She made a bad decision to accept this job. It will prove to be one of the WORST experiences in her career. Bad management, bad communication, sneakiness, lies, passive aggressive behavior, bad customer service. That's the company I worked for!

The girl I replaced went through crap. I went through crap. I don't know why it will be any different for this new girl.

But... I can't say anything bad about my boss and his little pet supervisor about him. THEY ARE DONG JUST FINE DRAGGING THEIR OWN NAMES THROUGH THE MUD AS THEY LOSE A CLIENT A MONTH AND A CUSTOMER A WEEK.
