specific bomb threat

There was a layoff last week 15 of us had there last day,today we had a reminder that we shouldn't let any of the laid off in the building ,the same reminder we were given the day after. later in the day ALL of the managers disappeared when we asked we were told there was an urgent off sight meeting they all had to attend and they took all of the HR department with them. By lunch time the maintenance department was escorting uniformed officers around the shop "with dogs" all we were told was they were just looking around. It seems that bu 2:00 someone in charge let it slip that there was some kind of threat made toward the facility but they weren't putting to much stock into it.
Boy do i love my job
It feel so good to know that my bosses care as much about my safety as their own butts and their lost production if people started leaving because there was a bomb threat.

chubby girl (11/21/2009) Management was very cowardly and callous to leave the work staff there. You were lucky this time but what about the next time? Do you have any recourse like a union, Department of Labor (DOL) or OSHA complaint? Call the DOL anonymously and find out your options. I understand how you feel it is very frightening. I work in a Federal Building and a man who works for another agency told me his wife takes answering service calls for the building. This answering service is located across town. Our building gets multiple bomb threats on a daily basis. The operators are trained to forward "the serious threats" to the police. So far so good, but I always think what if they blow off serious threats? mr. nobody (11/29/2009) yes we do have a recourse .there is an employee ethics hotline i called it and made a record of it ,it takes about a week before we get to see if anything comes of it .
