blackballed by cops

I used to be a cop about 7 years ago, long story short i was attacked by a guy high on meth he took my gun away and during the fight i killed him , the guys family harrased me to no end, i was put on 3rd shift and got complaints on days i didnt even work, i eventually got a job at another agency and that when it all began, with in a month i was being written p for things i never did, my training officer was literly lieing about incidents that never happened, i was encouraged to leave which i did, i worked in another state for a while but had to move back to be closer to my family, this is like 5 years later, i got a police job and am fired without any reason given in 2 weeks, they say in my state they dont have to give me a reason, this happened about 3 more times at different agencies, my old boss told me the family of the guy was doing it, i got a fake facebook and befriended them and sure enough they bragged about how they have ruined my life, they said they call the state and complain whenever i get a police job, and they assured them i would never have one in this state again, even though i was cleared completly of the shooting and even commended for my job and arrest on the case, i cant move back out of state cause i bought a house and am not qualified for anything else, and since its the law that is doing this to me i cant really prove it, what should i do, thankx

labtech (07/13/2010) You'll probably have to find some other kind of job outside of law enforcement. You could try changing your name, selling the house and moving, if you want to stay with it. It's not fair, and it's not right, but that's the real world, where the law is only applicable to a few people, and ethics is just a word in some books. I'd like to be more hopeful, but I'm feeling too beat down myself. april (07/15/2010) You really need to claim your life back and fight this. Why on earth wouldn't you? Why wouldn't you collect the facebook data, and whatever other proof you can collect and sue the crap out of them? You can't tell me it can't be done... Not to mention, where's the support from your fellow cops? wtf is that all about? I thought cops were all about supporting each other, especially when it comes to situations like the one you ended up in. Either way, those people need to be taken down. And if you can't use the legal system to do it because it's too corrupt, then trust me, there are PLENTY of ways you (as a cop) can put them in their place without the help of the legal system. excop (07/17/2010) well they sued the town and the town settled with them for like 30,000, i asked the town attorney and he said id have no case, but im thinking maybe i need to find my own, the only problem is the proof, a lot of people tell me what is going on, but its all hearsay, nothing solid....and i believed when i became a cop it would be like the army, a brotherhood, but its not, i learned the reality is to keep one eye on the suspect and the other on yor partner cause you really are all alone out there...
