Patterson Dental company sucks

I would like to say thank you to Patterson Dental and for coming in and taking over our company. We were all one big happy family and you came in and put a wonderful human resources director who can give a Crap about the employees in the firm. All she cares about is her pretty little beamer that she parks on the street and I hope it gets hit one day. Shes downright mean and ignorant,but I wish her well. Then there is the new wonderful president,yea were going to build a brand new facility. MY Butt! He comes in running his mouth and says well were closing the warehouse down and a new facility was never in his plans. Promises promises another one out just to make money and to please his superiors. MR SPROAT you will never survive the medical buisness. Go back to being a sales person. And Patterson I do wish u well and u might want to reconsider your decision to sign a lease and move everyone not just the dept we love and but the one department we relied on for many years. So may u have a lovely time selling bit and pieces of our beloved family company and from me and everyone else you can all go straight to hell

Because right now we have about 12 people leaving from our dept. Its a shame one day they tell you everything is ok and the next its something else. Make up your mind already, close the place and relieve the people who are stressed and nervous. A friend of mine just got fired from a top company. Here is what happened, the manager had an inside sales guy on salary and he wanted to promote him/get him off the books. He took accounts away from my friend (Shelly) and told her that the doctors were dissappointed with her performance. He told her not to go back to these accounts...as to not make the doctor and staff uncomfortable. He gave them to someone else after Shelly had worked years on developing the accounts. This new guy comes in and very well may get an award or company accolade and he is just stealing from the work Shelly did..at her own expense (she was on 100%commission.) Now, she is fired and the manager looks great. His bottom line looks better(took an inside guy off the books) now he pays his own expenses and the branch has more capital. He has a potential rookie of the year...so he looks good to corporate. This manager's philosophy is why work for it when you can steal it from a good worker. Please understand that not all managers will do this. I am saddened to say this did happen to Shelly and now she will spend years rebuilding her territory. By the way, Shelly had the best year she ever had before she was fired. The criteria to fire can be stacked against you by one goal you did not meet. It will be hard for you to find out if a manager is dishonest because no one will ever say anything bad about them for fear of losing their job in a tough economy. Best way to find out about the manager is find reps. that have gone on to other positions. They may in confidence tell you if the manager is o.k. Warning sales reps. if your manager says your accounts are calling in complaining of your service, it may not be true. Do not give up just hang in there. If anyone else has had this happen to them please post it. I have a feeling what happened to Shelly may be pervasive in this industry. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I think the truth can help you. Some of the reps. in this industry are some of the finest you can work with. They work extremely hard and care about their doctors. Find out through the back door what the manager is like. Best wishes to you. Simon (08/22/2009) The regional manager out of Greensboro hired his son and now a lot of the staff have left. Nepotism is a morale killer. He can mix numbers to build up whoever he likes. More turnover expected in 2009 Cadron Boy (11/30/2009) I concur -- albeit I am often forced to deal with Patterson Dental from time to time as they have some exclusive agreements with a handful of manufacturers -- I hate this company. In fact I don't know if I have ever had a pleasant experience with them over the past 20 plus years. They suck! John (02/09/2010) Nepotism is a morale killer. Southeast will suffer. used2luvem (03/18/2010) worked for patterson dental for close to 25 years then the company decided they needed to "right size"-guess I was no longer the right size because I was let go along with 4 co-workers.mind you,i was one of the best customer service reps there, sales people and customers loved me, i was so loyal it was disgusting, but my idiot branch manager didn't like me for whatever reason(guess my nose wasn't brown enough)so he saw his perfect opportunity to get rid of me and kept another idiot there who STILL can't do the job!! i keep in touch with friends and know that morale is very bad there,no raises for the past 2 years AND a 4% pay cut last year, but the corporate a**holes are making 700,000 per year,oh yeah, they did take a cut, down from their former 1 million,the poor things,how will they manage?? well, as long as they ruined a whole bunch of people's lives,i guess they're happy! Yeah, Patterson sucks all right!!! Patterson Sucks (07/26/2010) Yes, this company is terrible. They have the worst executive team I have ever seen. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to realize that when you get rid of technology reps, your technology sales will go down!!!! Duh you idiots! When I think they realized their mistake, management started to come down on the territory reps saying we weren't doing our jobs. Sorry guys, but we have a million other things on our plates. Also, if you don't play the political game here you will get passed over, over and over again. The managers' favorites will always get the best accounts and the people who have integrity and stay out of the drama get screwed. They always say it takes 2 years to go full commission. Well, it will take closer to 5 unless people quit and you get their accounts, or you find some kind of partner that will help you get referrals. Finding a partner like that may take a lot of time though. All in all, this is a cut throat company with not a lot of integrity.
